June Orientation 2021

June  25th,  2021

What a year it’s been! We are so excited to be able to come together for our June Orientation! A time for hellos and a time for goodbyes. A time filled with laughter, tears, riveting conversations, pivotal discoveries, and intimacy with God. These two and a half weeks mark the conclusion of one mission year and the beginning of a brand new one. Veteran missionaries, new missionaries, and staff members gathered for immersion in prayer, spiritual & human formation, leisure, and preparation for summer support raising.

Our days commenced bright and early with morning prayer. We enjoyed many meals together and spent time both rekindling tight bonds of friendship and forging new ones. As a community, we daily celebrated mass and prayed an hour in front of the Eucharist, asking God for healing, confidence, joy, and renewed strength to live out this mission, starting with ourselves. Over the last few weeks, speakers have enriched us with their wisdom on various topics, such as cultivating a missionary heart, praying with Scripture, living in community, understanding human temperaments, and reflecting on the call to the mission of The Culture Project. An essential facet of our June Orientation is reflecting on the gifts of nature, grace, and vocation that God has bestowed upon us and learning how to impactfully deploy those gifts for His kingdom.
