Fall Training 2019 Week 1
After a long time apart, we are back together for another time of training and formation. This time for six weeks in the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington New York.
Long travel days tend to be exhausting on all levels. Our objective for Arrival Day was very simple: arrive. After settling in and catching up with everyone, our Mission Team Managers shared their vision for the next six weeks.

Our daily routine will be grounded in prayer; praying daily holy hour and mass. We also have the opportunity to be formed by different speakers and authors who are very influential in the community of the Theology of the Body.
Our first full day was a retreat. It gave us time to process the summer and to prepare ourselves for the intense training and formation that we’re about to experience in the next six weeks. Abiding in the Lord through the sacraments will be our saving grace all throughout training and the whole year of mission.
DAY IN THE LIFE at FALL TRAINING
We’re blessed to have Brian Butler share his knowledge and love for the Theology of the Body. He spent two days with us on this first week breaking down the basics of the Theology of the Body.
“How we meet each individual is critical to the proclamation of the gospel.” Brian Butler
“A woman’s humanity is an icon of God’s love to man. The Fall is when the icon became the idol.” Brian Butler
We took a break on Saturday and drove out to New York City for Catholic Underground hosted by the Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
The takeaway form this first week comes from something Brian Butler mentioned in one of his sessions. It is something that brought peace in my anxious heart and busy mind. He says that the Theology of the Body isn’t something you can “figure out”. It is something we need to keep marinating in. It’s a journey that we as The Culture Project get to be on and we have the chance to invite others as well.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. Be on the look out for more videos and photos from us in the next five weeks.
